Anti-Banksy Campaign

Posted in Walls by BLDG on January 20, 2010

A new(ish) anti-Banksy campaign “Kill Banksy” has been running on a couple trains in the southeast of London (as seen below)

It’s a bit ironic that this writer “allegedly” hates Banksy, but the only reason his tags are getting noticed, is because of Banksy. I suppose anti-“anything popular” campaigns just get piggy-backed off the popularity of the original campaign anyway. If you really want to “Kill Banksy” I’d think you’d be better off attempting to be more clever, more witty, more ballsy and a better street artist than he is and you’ll rise above him, whilst pushing him into the shadows… i.e. Banksy & Blek Le Rat. Just a thought.

For Those Who Don’t Know… Electrik Sheep

Posted in Walls by BLDG on January 19, 2010

I’ve been thinking about how we at The BLDG can share so much more of the things we love with those of you who read the blog. So, I decided (for better or worse) to post some posts under the name “For those who don’t know…” Basically, it’s a ploy for us to spread the love.

Electrik Sheep is a great resource for clothing, toys, art prints and more. They’re always on point with some of the latest fashions and art on the block! They’ve got an amazing store in Newcastle, England that doubles as a gallery as I understand it. For those of us on this side of the pond, their online site is just as handy and loaded with goods. Go check ’em out!
